Aim of course

The goal of the course "Seminar Control Engineering" is to get familiar with current problems in the control of electromechanical and electrohydraulic actuator systems. It is intended to work through the whole design procedure from the mathematical modeling and the controller design to the test of the control strategy by means of simulations. Thus, students are given an introduction to scientific working (literature recherche) and to practical problems.

Subject of course

Mathematical modeling of electromechanical and electrohydraulic systems; modern nonlinear controller design methods (exact input to state or input to output linearization, flatness, backstepping, passivity based methods, etc.); Test of the control strategies by means of simulations in Matlab/Simulink;

Additional information

The course is divided into two parts: In the first part, an introduction to the modeling and the control of electromechanical and electrohydraulic actuators is given. In the second part, each student is given an assignment. This assignment has to be worked out during the course with guidance of the lecturer. The results have to be summarized in a short report and presented at the end of the course. A presentation of the lectures of the automation and control institute takes place on 05.03.2013 at 14:00 in room EI 9. The first course will take place on 06.03.2013 from 10:30 until 11:00 in the computer lab of ACIN CA0426.
