After successful completion of the course, students are able to apply available methods of building analysis onto a specific object. They are capable to differenciate possibilities and limitations of specific tools and to select adequate methods of documentation for the task.
We will study the "Reception of Antiquity" in the Italian Renaissance in the Modul History of Architecture and Building Archaeology in the winter semester 2023. The building survey object „Castello Colonna“ in Genazzano, the surrounding architectural context and the nearby Nymphaeum by Bramante will be the focus.As part of our building documentation there will be a special focus on the structural details.
