After successful completion of the course, students are able to...
Starting with the river-morphological models about the transport processes of water and solids in connection with the abiotic parameters of the river ecology close connection to the corresponding, mainly engineering-biological building materials, building elements and construction methods. The hydraulic engineering of longitudinal, transverse and revetments (lattice bush structures, packing units, reed leveling rollers, groynes, throwing stone ramps, threshold systems, concealed construction methods, etc.) and their hydraulic dimensioning up to the channel-morphological and ecological effects of channel widening form the core of the course. The construction of fish bypasses as well as water maintenance and maintenance as instruments for maintaining intact valley landscapes lead to related courses.
Learning the basics through lecture and self-study, calculation of exercises and discussion of practical examples.
Participation during the course and final oral exam.
Not necessary
Basic knowledge in hydraulics and hydraulic engineering is required.
