Leitbild (Deutsch) Das 1992 neu gegründete Institut für Festkörperelektronik der TU-Wien betreibt Grundlagen- und angewandte Forschung auf dem Gebiet der Mikro- und Nanostrukturen. Die Ausstattung enthält einen nach dem neuesten Stand der Technik konstruierten und eingerichteten Reinraum (200 m2 Klasse 100, 200 m2 Klasse 10000) mit allen notwendigen Geräten zur Herstellung mikrostrukturierter Bauelemente auf GaAs Basis incl. einer MBE Anlage. Der für die Charakterisierung der hergestellten Schichten notwendige Gerätepark ist am Institut für Festkörperelektronik an der TU-Wien ebenfalls vorhanden. Diese zur Herstellung und Charakterisierung von modernen Halbleitern notwendigen infrastrukturellen Einrichtungen entsprechen dem momentanen Industriestandard in der Hochtechnologie.

Leitbild (Englisch) The new Institute of Solid State Electronics at the Technical University of Vienna was founded in 1992 and is working in the field of micro- and nanostructured devices. The 400 m2 state of the art clean room contains all necessary equipment for microstructure fabrication including an GaAs-MBE machine for sample growth. Sample characterization is also possible by a wide variety of methods including low temperature transport and Far Infrared measurements.
