In der Lehre betreut das Institut grundlegende Lehrveranstaltungen im Bachelorstudium aus Elektrotechnik, Elektrodynamik, Signal- und Systemtechnik und Schaltungstechnik. In den Masterstudien Automatisierungstechnik, Telekommunikation, Computertechnik und Mikroelektronik bietet das Institut eine Reihe von schaltungstechnischen und hochfrequenztechnischen Vorlesungen und Laborübungen an, sowie biomedizinische Lehrveranstaltungen und praktische Übungen für das Masterstudium Biomedical Engineering.
In the field of theoretical and applied research the Institute of Electrodynamics, Microwave and Circuit Engineering (EMCE) is active in the numerical calculation of electromagnetic fields, in microwave engineering for information and communication technologies, in the design and realization of analog, mixed-signal and optoelectronic circuits, in the field of sensors for biology and medicine, and in sensor integration for robotics. With respect to academic teaching the institute offers courses in the bachelor program in electrical engineering, electrodynamics, signals and systems, measurement technology, and in circuit design. In the master programs in automation technology, telecommunication, computer technology, and microelectronics the institute provides a wide range of lectures and lab courses in circuit design and microwave technologies, as well as lectures and lab courses for the master program in biomedical engineering.
