Wissenschaftler liegt mein Fokus auf der Erforschung von Wechselwirkungsprozessen bei der Neutralisation von langsamen Ionen in einem Festkörper. Wesentlicher Forschungsgegenstand ist dabei die Untersuchung von hochgeladenen Ionen und deren Ladungsaustausch und Energieverlust beim Durchgang durch Festkörperoberflächen. Darüber hinaus befasse ich mich mit der Untersuchung von ioneninduzierten Nanostrukturen auf Oberflächen von Isolatoren mittels Rastersondenmikroskopie und Ultrakurzzeitphysik mit Femtosekundenlasern.
As a researcher my scientific work concerns the investigation of interaction processes involved in the neutralization of slow ions within solids. Especially research on highly charged ions and their charge exchange and energy loss upon transmission through a solid surface is of strong interest to me. Additionally studies of ion induced nanostructure formation on insulating surfaces utilizing scanning probe techniques plays a major role in my research. In addition I am using ultrafast laser systems to study ion-solid interaction in the time domain.
