After successful completion of the course, students are able to design, implement, and check the functionality of advanced control schemes. Of special importance is a suitable system modeling approach and meaningful simulations for control design.
The following laboratory experiments will be used: Temperatur control, Magnetic levitation control, Control of an inverted pendulum, Gyroscopic platform control, Helicopter control. Individual topics can be arranged with the supervisor.
Analytical and experimental modeling, model reduction, sensitivity analysis, design and performing of simulations, control design, optimization, hardware setup, controler implementation, design and performing of experiments, documentation.
Student performance is graded 2/3 immanent during the lab, 1/3 is contributed by a written documentation of the work.
Previous knowledge should significantly exceed the "Grundlagen der Regelungstechnik" course. Typically two or three advanced control courses should be successfully completed so the lab makes sense.
