After successful completion of the course, students are able to work out complex design tasks from the field of architecture and urban design independently, systematically and with an original, contemporary design approach based on a precise architectural language. They have the competence to recognize fields of action in the urban context and to develop corresponding urban planning solutions. The students acquire the competence to research topic-related basics on their own responsibility. They acquire the competence to create design concepts, to present them comprehensively in the form of draft and detailed plans and to present them convincingly.

Pristina is a place with exceptional characteristics that are closely related to the recent history of the country. The area of the little frequented railroad station and its connection to the city center forms the spatial focus area of this design and offers excellent conditions to establish "new" in the urban context. This "newness", be it building typological alternatives, changes in forms of mobility, urban structural interventions or selective interventions, are contributions to the discussion in the process of consolidating an urbanity characterized by rapid and informal growth. The students of the participating universities work together to develop new ways and strategies in the socio-political context of a transformation society.

The design is planned to be an integrative design for Bachelor and Master students (individual work!) in hybrid mode. Supervision appointments will mainly take place in face-to-face mode, international co-supervision will be hybrid or online. To deepen the course content, a field trip with on-site workshop LV260.785, 2ects and a one-week workshop at Drosendorf Castle will be offered as part of the design course. The excursion to Pristina will take place at the time of "Manifesta". One of the main pillars of Manifesta is its strong focus on urban development in the host cities. Manifesta 14 Pristina 2022 was curated by Catherine Nichols, the office CRA-Carlo Ratti Associati (MIT) from Turin. is dealing with one of the pillars of Manifesta 'Urban Visions

The mayor of Pristina, Preparim Rama, architect and urbanist, will accompany the course and support it with inputs from a political but also urban planning-architectural point of view.
