After successful completion of the course, students are able to... 

• To reproduce the history and characteristics of the building culture of a region with its typical features.
• To derive ideas for further development from these findings.
• To plan and carry out in-depth research on a specific topic in the region presented.
• Analyse the characteristics of a region on the basis of the information presented.

In this lecture series, the history and the most important topics of the region to be analysed are presented on the basis of specific projects. It is essential that the architecture and identity of a cultural area are comprehensively presented in order to develop a research topic based on this.

In the summer semester 2024, we have the exciting opportunity to have the Hallstatt-Dachstein/Salzkammergut region presented to us by the most knowledgeable experts currently available.

This includes people with expertise in art history, tourism, monument preservation, archaeology and specifically World Heritage management.

The compulsory excursion/field research for the module will take place between Tuesday, 02.04.2024 and Thursday, 11.04.2024 in the UNESCO World Heritage region Hallstatt-Dachstein / Salzkammergut.
