Am Forschungsbereich Atom- und Plasmaphysik wird an der Wechselwirkung von Ionen und Elektronen mit Materie (Atomen, Molekülen, Oberflächen inkl. 2D Materialien) sowohl aus fundamentalem Interesse als auch aufgrund deren Relevanz für die Plasma-Wand-Wechselwirkung, die Diagnostik von Fusionsplasmen, die Manipulation der Eigenschaften von Materialien für verschiedene Anwendungen u.a. in der EUV-Lithographie geforscht.

The Research Unit of Atomic and Plasma Physics is investigating the interaction of ions and electrons with matter (atoms, molecules, surfaces including 2D materials) both out of fundamental interest and due to its relevance for plasma-wall interaction, the diagnostics of fusion plasmas, the manipulation of the properties of materials for various applications, including EUV lithography.
