Compaction with oscillation
01.10.2011 - 30.09.2016
Assigned research project
The research and development project regarding compaction by oscillation contains basic investigations with the oscillatory compaction principle developed by the company HAMM AG. The outcomes shall be used for the optimization of oscillatory rollers and the construction of a CCC measurement system. Contents of the research project: • Experimental fundamental investigations (fundamental research), • Theoretical modeling and simulation of the interaction system drum – ground, • Experimental investigations – Large scale in situ test (experimental verification) Objectives: • Investigation of the fundamental behavior of the interaction between the drum of an oscillatory roller and the ground, • Identification of potentials for the optimization of oscillatory rollers, • Preparation of basics for the development of a measurement system for “continuous compaction control (CCC)” for oscillatory rollers, • Investigations of the drum slip as basis for the assessment of the abrasive wear of the drum.
