Non-housing building stocks fit for ¿Smart City¿ ¿ fit for future

The aim of the study is building up of specific knowledge on the topic of sustainabilit of non-housing building stocks, with special emphasis on industrial building stocks. The new sustainable smart city will be confronted with the heritage of industrial city of the 20th and 19th century. The study develops strategies and methods for future integration of existing stocks in catergories such as: further use with refurbishment, refurbishment and extension or redevelopment (new use). The main focus lies hereby on energy efficiency, but more over on resources efficiency: balance of economic interests (investment vs. ROI) and ecologic efficiency.
