Ehoch10 - Deep Geothermal Energy
01.11.2010 - 31.08.2011
Research funding project
The "Deep geothermal power station" project represents a new process for the exploitation of geothermal energy. District heating and heating for industrial purposes as well as electricity can be produced in a geothermal power station. The heat extraction will be controlled and continuous in a closed circulation system using drillings from a mined system of tunnels at a depth of 6,000 m. In order to overcome the high temperatures and rock pressures to be expected, interdisciplinary collaboration between several professions will be required. The aim of the project is to develop a feasibility study focusing on technical and economical problems.
