simple SNG - Production of natural gas from wood over poisoning resistant catalysts

01.01.2011 - 31.12.2013
Research funding project
The production of natural gas from biomass is investigated at the moment worldwide. An drawback of the existing technology is that the used catalysts are very sensitive to poisoning. In former work there were catalysts found, which convert synthesis gas to methane in the presence of sulfur. In this project these catalysts will be investigated on their long term stability. The aim is to reduce the investment and operation costs of the gas treatment and to enable a economic viable production of SNG from Biomass.
