Correlation between fracture mechanics tests and life-prediction of elastomers (fracture of elastomers)

Assigned research project

Repeated cyclic loading of elastomer-filled systems causes a change in the mechanical properties of materials, which can lead to cracking, fracture and failure of the components. The aim of this project is to predict the life-time of certain rubber components with regard to the cause of failure. The fatigue crack initiation and crack growth will be studied.
