Large-scale Non-linear Micro Finite Element Framework

01.01.2010 - 31.12.2012
Global individual project
Highly parallelizeable FE solvers have great future potential to speed up numerical analysis in computational solid mechanics. In this project two solvers (ParFE and Olympus/FEAP) were examined on the VSC. CPU number and model size scaling results were done. In a second part of the project patient specific micro finite element methods are generate and analysed in order to predict strength and stiffness of vertebral bodies augmented with PMMA bone cement.
