i-Code: Real-time Malicious Code Identification

01.07.2010 - 30.06.2012
Forschungsförderungsprojekt
This project aims to develop a real-time malicious code identification toolset and an integrated forensics console which will (i) detect, (ii) identify, and (iii) categorize malicious code spreading through current and next-generation networks. The objectives of this project are: (i) to design and prototype a system for network-level real-time detection of malicious code propagation, (ii) to customize and provide a malware detection infrastructure which will aid users in categorizing and identifying captured malware, (iii) to facilitate the detection of malware in high-speed next- generation networks through the design and prototyping of novel execution architectures, and (iv) to maximize the impact of the project through aggressive and effective dissemination of the project's results . To achieve its objectives, the project will mobilize leading European Research and Industrial Partners in the area with proven expertise in the area of malicious code detection and identification. In addition, by capitalizing on emerging results from state-of-the-art European projects, i-Code will use and further enhance the latest available technology in the areas of malicious code identification and forensics tools
