Energy self-sufficient City

01.01.2010 - 28.02.2011
Research funding project
The concept "Energy self-sufficient City" is based on a "Smart district heating grid", which is fed by a decentralized energy generation system with cogeneration. Due to the desired selfsufficiency-rate of 95% regional renewable energy sources are used for providing the necessary energy. This concept is tested by means of four different settlement typologies in two diversifying model regions. The settlement typologies are referenced to a characteristic metropolis, an urban area, a rural area and center with a specific utilization.
