Changes. Women in technology are developing new perspectives.
01.10.2010 - 30.09.2012
Research funding project
Project outline: CHANGES CHANGES - the new cooperative project of AIT (Seibersdorf), Bioenergy2020+ and the Center for Promoting Women and Gender Studies at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Vienna) - not just tightens the collaboration of those three institutions but also opens new career perspectives and chances for female students of the TU Vienna. CHANGES is mainly directed to female Technology-orientated students at the end of their study, so they can graduate and write their thesis during this project. But also undergraduates can get hands-on training as well as PhD students can work on their thesis during CHANGES. Those participants will experience how research and development (R&D) is conducted in the selected research field. Students can choose out of a variety of topics and get to know different organisational cultures as both a big research institution as AIT (Seibersdorf) and a small, research intensive enterprise are part of CHANGES. Besides a well funded professional training the participants of CHANGES are offered a lot: courses for transferable skills, study trips to different companies, group coaching and support to build up and strengthen the personal network. The in-depth exchange with the project partners and the students create sustainable structures which future young scientists can use. Similarly, just this kind of cooperation opens the participants good entry opportunities in their science careers.
