The DRIMS project is focused on achieving convergence of WBC¿s higher education with EU developments deriving from the Lisbon agenda and the Bologna process through development of Regional Interdisciplinary Mechatronics Studies. The DRIMS project corresponds to the Institutional Development Plans of the Universities and to the needs and interest of all partners in the project. The project objectives are within the national and regional PC priorities about the modernisation of curriculum. The project covers areas relevant for the economic and social processes of Macedonia, Kosovo and Montenegro and their closer association to the European Union. As a result of problem analysis in Partner Countries (PC), the DRIMS project intention is: (i) To develop regional interdisciplinary BSc and MSc studies in Mechatronics, focusing on 3 cycle structure, ECTS and degree recognition, with regard to Lisbon agenda and Bologna process and with relevance to industry needs. (ii) To update existing and build new capacities concerning equipment, teaching materials, teaching methods and teaching staff in order to achieve quality and relevance of the curricula. (iii) To create an education and industry networks in order to obtain sustainable system for international and industry-education cooperation. (iv) To develop life-long learning (LLL) courses for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the WBC region, in order to contribute to increasing the industry comptitevnes.
