Accurate Nuclear Data for nuclear Energy Sustainability

01.05.2010 - 31.10.2013
Forschungsförderungsprojekt
The goals of this Euratom project are increased accuracy, improved estimate of uncertainties and validation of nuclear data required for enhanced security of nuclear systems as well as for transmutation and reduction of radioactive waste. The involved working group of TU Wien has the primary task to extend its general evaluation tool GENEUS also to fission observables. The code GENEUS is based on the concept of Bayesian statistics, which provides a complete evaluation including mean values of observables and cross section covariance matrices. GENEUS is particularly well suited for strongly model dependent nuclear data evaluations. The applicaility of the newly developed method should be demonstrated at the example of neutron-induced reactions on one actinide isotope.
