Development of a DNA barcoding system for feed additives

01.06.2009 - 01.03.2016
Assigned research project
DNA barcodes are synthetic DNA sequences of approximately 100 basepairs and are usually immobilized in a matrix and added to food and feedstuff. These barcodes can be detected and quantified by quantitative PCR with barcode-specific primer pairs. The determination of the barcode sequence allows the identification of counterfeited products or stretched original products.
