The aim of the NoChimney-Project is to develop a device for secondary emission abatement of pelletfired room heating stoves. Therefore, in a first step, raw flue gas input conditions as expected from real-world operation of such appliances are estimated based on literature survey and experimental findings. Objective of the respective research task is the investigation of the separation of particulate matter from the flue gas. The NoChimney device must be able to separate pollutants in each operating mode that might occur in real-life operation, including e.g. start and stop phases, min, max and average load. Various technologies are addressed by means of a literature survey as well as by experimental test using a laboratory filter test rig under ambient air conditions.
