Intelligent Detection of Track Geometry Using Production Rail Vehicles
01.01.2009 - 31.03.2011
Research funding project
In this project a data-based method is to be developed which maps the dynamic vehicle response to the track geometry and vice versa. This method enables the use of robust and affordable sensors for estimating the track geometry during normal operation. The following advanced goals should also be reached: - Investigation and evaluation of safety critical parameters - Determination of a set of safety critical parameters - Online supervision of track geometry - Optimal service intervals utilizing a prediction of track wear - Maximum permissible speed for a given safety level and service plan The developed methods should be ready for the following implementation in a suitable hardware.
