Flexible Injection of Alternative Carbon Material into the Blast Furnace - CFD Simulation and Raceway Modelling

Research funding project
Based on CFD simulations the behaviour of alternative carbon materials (e.g. plastics particles) during the injection into the raceway of blast furnaces shall be investigated. A detailed mechanism for the gasification of plastics will be considered. Among other informations data shall be derived for the form and geometry of the raceway, temperatur, species concentrations, pressure drop etc. in the BF region of the raceway.
