Analysis of the effects of an inner city shopping centre on an adjacent shopping street

Research funding project
The city of Vienna is planning a multifunctional district centre (retail business, workplaces, leisure) on a 20,000 m² big part of land of the brewery in Ottakring. A shopping centre is part of these proposal. A side effect of increased customer frequency many expect positive effects for the existing retail businesses in the adjacent Thaliastraße. The objective of the project is to analyse the economy and transport effects of the proposed shopping centre with a special focus on the retail businesses in the Thaliastraße.
