Innovative Solutions to optimize Low Voltage Electric Systems: Integrated Network Information Systems

01.06.2015 - 31.03.2018
Research funding project

Current smart meter roll-out policies have and will lead to a large number of meters being
installed in low voltage grids. Due to the lack of appropriate IT infrastructures by means of
data storage and processing, the potential of meter and sensor data is far from being fully
exploited. The project ¿iNIS: Integrated Network Information System¿ aims for establishing an
IT framework - interoperable with existing enterprise systems, as well as high performance
parallel data analytic methods, that allow the integrative application of meter and sensor data
in grid planning and operation processes. Functionality of the framework will be evaluated as
proof of concept in use cases for network planning, load forecasting and network operation.
