University Management in the Context of the European Higher Education Area

The project duration was June 15, 2007 - June 14, 2008. The project consortium included 3 partner institutions from Ukraine and 4 partner universities from the European Union. The project was approved and funded by the European Commission in the framework of the Tempus programme. The project grantholder was Vienna University of Technology, Austria. The total project costs were 133897 EUR incl. the grant amount of 127097 EUR. Project objectives: a) Training of a work group consisting of: - 6 managers / decision makers from leading Ukrainian universities, and - 2 experts from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in different fields of university management with respect to the needs of the European higher education area (EHEA). b) Development and dissemination of a "Guide for University Management in Ukraine in the Context of the EHEA". Project outcomes: - 14 Ukrainian experts from the Lviv Polytechnic National University (LPNU), Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics (KNUTE), and Ministry od Education and Science of Ukraine were trained, - the Guide "University Management in the Context of European Higher Education Area" containing recommendations for the improvement of university management in the context of EHEA has been developed and published, - the project web-site has been developed and released, - the Final Conference was organised in which the project results as well as different issues of university management were presented and discussed at the national level.
