chip removal analysis with CO2-cooling

01.02.2007 - 01.04.2007
Assigned research project
At institut for production engineering a mechanism was developed for the proportioned supply of CO2 during machine cutting processes. By the expansion of CO2 in a nozzle a substantial cooling of the medium steps, so that this withdraws as dry ice. This cooling equipment is applied to a turning lathe. In chip removal analysis on a turning lathe (Gildemeister CTX 420) this effect is to be used now, in order to exhaust the cutting warmth from the turning process of high-grade steel materials. The influence on the service life is to be determined.
