Integrated Infrastructure Initiatives for Material Testing Reactors Innovations
01.10.2006 - 30.09.2011
Research funding project
Task 1. Determine the target groups for training and their training needs in the MTR field, including assessment of the number of potential candidates per year Target groups might be research reactor operators, experimentalists using the facility, loop designers, reactor supervisors and reactor managers, and student of nuclear physics, ¿ Task 2. Assess the various training programs presently carried out in education and training centres within the European Union, to determine their strengths and weaknesses, in relation to the target groups and their needs For example the information from European training programs in nuclear field (academic and practical) such as ENEN and NEPTUNO will be used, as well as those from the Eugene Wigner course (multinational training course between Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovak Republic supported also by the IAEA) Task 3. Define training programs adapted to the particular needs of the various target groups in the most appropriate partners institutions (optimisation at the European level which allow to avoid duplications) and integration of the MTR programs in the European training programs. Note that lessons of one training program could be delivered in two complementary sites if necessary. New sessions dedicated to MTR in existing programs could also be proposed in order to attract young persons in the MTR field. Task 4: Provide first training sessions to targeted groups
