Innovative lighting management system

01.05.2015 - 30.09.2017
Research funding project

The goal of CANOPUS is to present a holistic view on an innovative lighting management system. It shall dramatically increase the energy efficiency of streetlights in residential areas. The project realizes a demand responsive lighting management system. It controls streetlights adjusted to the needs of residential areas based on processed data coming from heterogeneous sensors. As a system it provides interfaces to cooperate with other high level management platforms (e.g. traffic management) and is able to provide different services for cooperating systems. The benefit of the system is assessed by an energy evaluation, user acceptance study and life cycle analysis.
