MALDI time-of-flight mass spectrometry of intact Fusarium species - Multidisciplinary detection and evaluation of domestic Fusarium species

Research funding project
Direct MALDI mass spectrometric determination of virulent and toxin-producing fungi species and characterization of their protein pattern. Development of new chemotaxonomic tool for Fusarium spp. and of a fast screening method for mycotoxin-producing Fusarium species. This should function as alternative to classical microbiological and molecular biological methods and work as prediction tool to evaluate the risks of certain fungi isolates as well as populations.
