Conversion of bio oils in FCC pilot plant

01.05.2006 - 30.04.2007
Assigned research project
Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) is one of the most important processes to produce gasoline. Crucial point of this project is to add oils from biological sources to the FCC feed in order to contribute to a reduction of CO2 production from fossil fuels. A fully continuously operated FCC pilot plant is built up. Preliminary tests are performed with standard feed to determine a base case similar to the conditions of the OMV FCC plant. Following experiments are performed with addition of sunflower oil respectively rape seed oil up to 20%m to the standard feed. Occurring differences are to be analyzed.
