This project is in its early exploratory phase, aiming to establish the conceptual foundation for a scalable, AI-driven digital intervention to counter radicalization and extremist activities in online environments. The focus is on applying value-sensitive design (VSD) principles and personalized persuasion techniques to design a solution that can engage vulnerable individuals on social media platforms, encouraging early behavioral change and collaboration with violence prevention professionals. This stage involves stakeholder consultations, workshops, and prototype development tailored to the DACH region, serving as a basis for future scaling to other European and global contexts. The project lays the groundwork for technological advancements in persuasive technology, which may have applications in fields such as mental health, education, and digital services. By fostering international cooperation and ethical standards, the project ultimately aims to improve societal resilience, reduce extremist risks, and enhance public safety in an increasingly digital world.
