01.04.2002 - 04.07.2007
Research funding project
The objective of RealReflect is to develop a novel image based physically correct visualization technology, especially for objects with complex reflectance behavior, in virtual environments. The system addresses two hot issues in Virtual Reality systems: photo realisim through visualization of real reflectance behaviour of surfaces an sophisticated light simulation that allows for a highly accurate determination of light distribution and reflection behavior. The industrial fields this project is focused on are: - Virtual design and ergonomic investigations and safety simulations e.g. in night driving situations in the automotive industry - Virtual design by the use of different materials in architecture. Such a Virtual Reality system is not available world-wide.
