Improving the Safety and Efficiency of Li-ion Batteries for Electromobility

29.06.2012 - 28.06.2014
Research funding project

The Objectives of the research project are: the design and development of a new Silicon
anode for Lithium Ion cells, the development of a standardized characterization method of
the emitted gas of the cell in misuse or extreme conditions, and designing of the equipment
necessary to carrying out this characterization test. The analytic characterization of the
emitted gases and the adopted Eco-Designed material development make a decisive
contribution to increase the safety, performances and environmental impact of the Lithium
ion energy storage technology.
