Wasserstoff Produktion Schüler Praktikum FFG

01.08.2023 - 31.08.2023
Bildungs- und Hochschulmanagementprojekt

Electrolytic hydrogen production is investigated to answer our current societal challenge as concern climate changes, environmental impact and limited natural resources.Using solid oxide cells is foreseen as an efficient method to produce high purity hydrogen.

For any industrial application, long-term operation with high power output is requested together with a high thermal, chemical, mechanical and electrochemical stability. Thus, development towards a stable cell under the reversible fuel cell and electrolysis operation is necessary, particularly at high current densities. Solid oxide electrolysis cells and stacks should be analyzed with post-test analysis using X-ray diffraction techniques. The aim of the study is to understand the ohmic degradation observed. The intern will be involved in the sample preparation for the analysis and the phase analysis by computer programs. He/she will learn how to work in an analytical way and to present scientific results in written and oral.
