The current version of the online planning tool "Lower Austrian Infrastructure Cost Calculator" (NIKK) developed by the Office of the Lower Austrian Provincial Government (Department of Spatial Planning in cooperation with TU Wien, Dialog Plus, BOKU Wien and Emrich Consulting) enables the estimation of municipal fiscal effects of settlement developments (residential, mixed and commercial areas) in municipalities in the federal state of Lower Austria.

The aim of the present research project is a technical, methodological and empirical extension of the NIKK system (web application), which enables an asessment of settlement developments in municipalities in the federal state of Carinthia.
