Within the EC’s Copernicus programme, a wide variety of Earth Observation (EO) products became available that can form the basis for an automated, Austria-wide flood monitoring system. This project will evaluate the potential of an existing, EO data driven flood-monitoring workflow in Austria. It will assess the impact of different required input data to optimise its future price-performance ratio. A supplementary workflow will be developed to detect partially flooded vegetation. Both workflows will be used with optimised input data to re-assess flood events since 2016.
