Monitoring based automatic calibration of building models for building control and fault detection

01.04.2012 - 31.03.2015
Research funding project

In this project, a building model shall be automatically calibrated based on data from a technology and manufacturer independent building monitoring system. Interfaces to monitoring systems shall be defined, data required for calibration shall be specified, and an algorithm for automatic calibration of a building model shall be developed. Once implemented, this combination of building simulation and building monitoring enables improvements in the area of building commissioning, building control, fault detection and building design. A prototypical application shall detect and report faults in building operation based on a building monitoring set-up and matching building model (e.g., by detecting differences between measured and simulated values).
