Research funding project

In my research project “Female Perspectives on the Intertwinement of Living, Learning and Working in peripheral Council Housing. An intergenerational Case Study in Vienna”, I will close a research gap with regard to the biographical intertwinement of living, learning and working in council estates located in a peripheral industrial area of Vienna. I relate my case study to (1) community studies, (2) research on the social production of space (and gender), and (3) research on gender and biography. I consider this approach innovative, as international literature on community studies and housing does not focus on gender, biography and housing. Likewise, literature on the social production of gender and space rarely considers biographical perspectives. Vice versa, biographical research does not take into account the concrete “spatiality” of experience. A triangulation of the three approaches thus will contribute innovative foundational research to the current state of the art.
