Fostering Life science discovery through multidimensional characterization of 3D tissue models

LifeScope3D represents a unique platform enabling all-round characterization of multicellular structures, from high throughput screening of spheroids or organoids down to single cell or molecule analysis, using optical, microscopical and mechanical detection methods. This scientific pipeline will be fully integrated in the new Cell Culture Core facility at TU Wien, and accessible for research, industry and for educational purposes. Such synergism will permit both to substantially leverage the already strong expertise in cell culture at TU Wien and to foster research in emerging thematic involving multicellular assemblies, with important implication in personalized medicine. The start-up phase will be devoted to the installation of the devices, comprehensive test for functionality, developing the correlation methodology and documentation as well establishing a booking system to allow user access on a non-discriminatory basis. In addition, as being accessible to external users, this unique infrastructure will strongly reinforce education activities at the TU Wien and initiate new research projects including those with biomedical industries in Life Science hot spot of Vienna and Austria in general.
