Synthetic Rock Mass Models (SRM) for the evaluation of slope movements using the example of the Vals rockfall in Tyrol.

09.03.2020 - 07.09.2020
Assigned research project

The objective of the research and development project is to gain knowledge about the applicability of synthetic rock mass models (SRM) for the assessment of the stability of valley flanks in the alpine region. SRMs try to model the complex material rock/rock mass on the basis of structural geological data and rock strengths obtained in the laboratory. On a slope scale, however, simplifications and scaling must be applied due to the high computational power required for these models. Here there is a need for research.
