SatGrass aims to continuously estimate yield and quality of Austrian grasslands, being the most important land-use system in terms of area and ecological importance. The Earth Observation (EO) program Copernicus provides imagery in high spatio-temporal resolution, which support ap-plications at field and regional level. Time series from Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 are jointly ana-lysed and evaluated to identify cutting times and subsequently the utilisation intensity of grass-land. From EO data derived vegetation traits and weather data, yield and forage quality dynamics will be modelled throughout the entire growing season.
