As part of the bilateral cooperation BIMCHAIN, the interaction of Building Information Modeling (BIM) with smart contracts and blockchain technology is to be investigated for the entire life cycle of a building. The sub-project FMCHAIN (BIMCHAIN in the operational phase) focuses on the operational phase of a building. FMCHAIN aims to initiate necessary maintenance and servicing processes automatically. Data from the building's operating phase must be recorded and, if necessary, trigger more traceable processes using smart contracts. A suitable blockchain-based system architecture must be designed, implemented as a proof of concept, checked for security flaws and revised with the parallel work of the BIMCHAIN project.
