Emerging Perspectives on Urban Morphology: Researching and Learning through Multiple Practices

01.11.2017 - 29.02.2020
Bildungs- und Hochschulmanagementprojekt

EPUM is a European pedagogic research project and network which aims at the integration of different, often isolated approaches to the study of urban form through pedagogic innovation and the enhanced use of information and communication technology (ICT). It aims at establishing a platform of collaboration to address the challenges faced by contemporary cities from a multidisciplinary perspective thus encompassing the multiple dimensions which condition the urban form in today’s societies: architectural, urban, environmental, economic, cultural and social.

The key objective of the project is to develop an innovative system of teaching urban morphology, which breaks down research, disciplinary and institutional barriers in educational cultures through the development and use of digital resources. In doing this, the project will make education in urban morphology more open and inclusive by providing resources which are accessible not only to those enrolled in higher education programmes, but to anyone wanting to access training regardless of their geographical location, educational culture or ability to travel.
