GEORAMA - Geo-navigational portal that will provide all necessary information and services to the mountain & countryside
23.12.2002 - 23.12.2004
Research funding project
The objective of the GEORAMA project is to develop a geo-navigational web portal that serves sportsmen, tourists, and the local population by offering relevant spatial and thematic information in several European tourism regions. The web service aims at promoting the access to public and private information related to countryside and mountain tourism by offering digital maps and additional data on the web and enabling the potential visitors to plan their visits. To provide the necessary information, various data from selected tourist regions all over Europe had to be acquired, coming in different formats and from different sources. In order to meet specific requirements and conventions legal, economic and technical aspects of data interoperability are investigated.
