TIRE-DERIVED FIBERS ¿ ASSESSMENT OF PROCESSING AND MARKETABILITY The processing of crumb rubber from waste tires produces a fiber residue that is nowadays thermally disposed given that there is a lack of market demand for this material. The project addresses optimized ways of fiber-processing, where significant efforts in grinding and cleaning (fiber/rubber-separation) are undertaken in order to deliver fibrous products with defined quality. Furthermore this survey assesses applications concerning their marketability and market potential.
