Resilienz Österreich - Regional and sectoral operationalisation of energy resilience to minimize the vulnerability of the regions 2020/2050

01.03.2012 - 28.02.2014
Forschungsförderungsprojekt
The energy revolution is driven by several factors including the depletion of fossil fuels, which at the same time constitutes a major challenge. To support the generation of measures to increase the resilience of the energy system, an index of regional vulnerability of the Austrian energy revolution until 2020/2050 under conditions of Peak Oil, Gas and Coal, based on the KLIEN-Projekte „Powerdown“, „Save our Surface“, „Feasible Futures“, „Zersiedelt“, “PlanVision”, „KlimAdapt“ and „PRESENCE“ will be calculated. The index combines resilience indicators integrating technical, economic, ecologic and social factors. Energy resilience of all Austrian regions will be mapped, analysed in-depth and validated in the frame of two case studies of climate and energy model regions (KLIEN). The resilience of regional energy transformation paths with a focus on climate and energy model regions (KLIEN) will be assessed in SWOT-analyses.
