Research interests:Hydrology and Water Resources, in particular(1) Flood research (design floods, flood forecasting, flood processes, flood statistics, flood generation, numerical modeling of flood inundation and flood retention, rainfall-runoff modeling)(2) Regional Hydrology (estimation of low and high flows, water balance in areas without discharge measurements, snow hydrology, scale issues, parameter estimation, process-based hydrological models, Geographical Information Systems)(3) Hydrological Process Studies (Research in the Hydrological Open Air Laboratory, Petzenkirchen on understanding flow pathways, evaporation, erosion, soil moisture, water quality, water hygiene)(4) Water management (risk analysis, simulation methods in water management, socio-hydrology, water and climate change, impact of climate change on water resources, floods, low flows, long-term changes in the flood regime)The projects are funded by the European Union (Horizon 2020), ERC, FWF, FFG, Austrian Academy of Sciences, Federal, State and Local governments as well as the industry.Teaching:Bachelor and Master (Civil Engineering): Hydrology, Water, and Environmental Sciences, Modeling and simulation, Statistics
